Social Media Manager Job Description

Job Summary

As our focused and dedicated Social Media Manager, you are key to making sure we give our clients the best possible service. 

If you’re creative AND can quickly and appropriately prioritize daily tasks, this might be a great fit for you. 

Given that we work remotely and have a wide variety of clients you’ll be simultaneously working on, this position requires you to:

Be a self-starter with strong writing skills
Have the ability to portray different tones to different audiences
Conduct research to familiarize yourself with up to 10 varying industries so you are able to confidently create content and respond as the client across their platforms.

Our SMM must work well independently as well as with a team. We are looking for an individual who is open to constructive criticism and has the ability and willingness to implement change immediately.

Primary Objectives

Researching a variety of Industries for content.
Researching the latest social media trends and hashtags for up to 10 different clients.
Reviewing scheduled social media posts across Facebook, Publer, Later and other platforms as needed.
Carrying out and attaining the mission and the goals of the business.
Personal ongoing self-development and personal growth as an employee.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist with creating and implementing social media campaigns.
Develop content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis for company brands.
Monitor analytics to identify viable ideas.
Writing social copy.
Engaging with others on social media on behalf of clients.
Replying to messages and comments on social media as the client.
Staying on top of key trends in social media.
Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
Blog writing
Editing newsletters
Other tasks as needed

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred
3+ years’ experience in social media marketing preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and LinkedIn
Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights preferred
Basic knowledge of Photoshop and/or Canva preferred
Basic knowledge of Mailchimp and Constant Contact preferred
